Jumping into Social Trends for Easter 2021
With Easter coming up this weekend, many consumers are thinking about how they plan to celebrate. Last year, Easter fell during the early months of COVID, when social distancing was still a fresh concept and many people were forgoing large gatherings. So, rather than examining trends from last year, we looked to our Quotient Social Platform to see which topics consumers are interested in today.
Here are the results.
Basket 1: Traditional Easter Treats
To start off, we looked to the traditional Easter classics that people celebrate with year after year. Sweet treats like “Chocolate Bunny” and “Jelly Bean” showed up as some of the top trends, however savory options like “Deviled Egg” and “Ham” were also popular with consumers.
For brands who want to know how these trends could be incorporated into their campaign planning, consider packaging multiple trending topics into a single sponsored social post—for example, what about a recipe video showing people how to make carrot cake muffins for Easter brunch? Or an ad that showcases a stylized spring tablescape with a classic baked ham, deviled eggs or even a lemon tart?
Basket 2: Springtime Self-Care
For our next Easter trend “basket,” we looked to the Beauty, Personal Care, Household and Alcohol categories. All of these products can be combined into a fun self-care theme that trends well during springtime.
For example, consumers tend to change up their beauty routines whenever there is a change in weather. Brands can use this knowledge to boost relevant beauty products—like lip balm, sunscreen and sunless tanning—on eCommerce using sponsored search. In keeping with the Easter theme, brands could even promote different alcohol products like spiked spritzers or prosecco that can serve as the perfect cocktail for brunch.
Basket 3: Pet-Friendly Products
Last but not least, you can’t forget about all of the quarantine dogs and cats who will be celebrating Easter alongside their human companions. Springtime is also prime flea and tick season, so many consumers are looking for information on this topic. Likewise, content surrounding spring animals like bunnies and chicks also trends well on social during this time.
We hope you found this Easter round-up of trends to be both fun and informative! For more insight into how Quotient can help inform your future holiday campaign planning, get in touch with our team at general@quotient.com or check out our dedicated social platform page.
